Didcot Dragons Korfball Club (DDKC) is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all its members, ensuring a positive, supportive and enjoyable experience for all. The club believes that it is important that all members, coaches, administrators, spectators, opponents and anyone associated with the club is treated with respect and understanding at all times. As such, everyone is encouraged to raise any concerns that they may have regarding breaches of the code of conduct with the club’s chair or any member of the committee
Members of DDKC should abide by the following code of conduct
- Act in the interests of Korfball and Didcot Dragons Korfball Club, and not act in any manner that is improper, or brings the sport or club into disrepute
- Play according to the rules, and respect all officials, coaches, team members, committee members and anyone else involved with the club
- All members should respect their opponents
- A member must not use violent, threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting words or behaviour
- Pay any fees due to the club promptly and in full
- All members must wear suitable and appropriate clothing
- Clean indoor footwear (for indoor matches, shoes suitable for sports with multi-directional movement, such as basketball, netball or handball, are advised
- Appropriate footwear for outdoor summer training (Astro boots/football boots with grip advised)
- No jewellery or accessories
- No metal or sharp clothing
- No sharp fingernails
- Where possible, members should wear full kit to matches, consisting of:
- A club top
- Preferably black shorts/skirt/trousers
Any serious breaches of the code of conduct or repeated infringements (as decided by the committee) will be met with a formal warning. At this point, the member will have four sessions in which to improve their behaviour (with the guidance of the coaches). If the member is found to be in breach of the code of conduct again, they may be asked to leave the club.
