Training is due to begin for the indoor season on 4th September, with our first match of the season coming at the end of September.
Come along 8-10pm to Willowbrook Leisure center!
We are also having a beginners session on 18th September – more details to follow
We are planning summer training (although it feels nothing like summer outside yet!) and our tournament, so watch this space for announcements about both of these things in the coming weeks.
As always, anyone is welcome to come along to training and to watch games – normally played Sunday afternoons at St Gregory the Great school in Oxford.
On Sunday 7th May, we played in the second division playoffs against Southampton City 2 and Guildford.
After winning both our games, D1 is promoted to division 1 for next season.
Well done to everyone from Didcot who played, and a big thank you to Southampton, Guildford and all referees for such enjoyable matches.
This evening Didcot Dragons 1 played Didcot Dragons 2 in a head-to-head battle of fiery wills by fellow teammates. Despite the initial 5-1 lead by D2, the final result saw a resounding win on the part of D1 at 17 goals to 5. Top goal scorers for D1 were Kate Holburn, Matt Gordon and Andy Cornish and in D2 Alex Lea scored the most goals and was also voted MVP.
Well done to everyone who played today. It’s never easy playing competitively against your own teammates after all!
Next Sunday D1 will be playing Abingdon 3 at 3.30pm.
Also please do not forget that this Tuesday 31st January the Didcot Dragons will be holding a very special beginners sessions for new players to the sport of korfball and anyone who wishes to give it a go! Didcot Girls School Sports Hall, 8-10pm. We look forward to seeing you there.

This Sunday Didcot Dragons 1 played Isis 2 at St Gregory the Great Catholic School resulting in a 10-7 win to the Dragons. The top goal scorers were Tris Kendell (3) and Chloe Watts (2) and a big well done goes out to all team members who worked together to score the well deserved win for our club. Go Dragons!
In the second match of the day Didcot Dragons 2 played Bucks Royals. The final score was a 19-9 win to Bucks who played a very good game. While the Dragons may not have won this time round, they exhibited a huge amount of skill and great teamwork on court and a tremendous sense of achievement resounded amongst all despite the outcome. The top goal scorer of the match was Ian Lewis who scored three goals and Tris Kendell acted as sub.
Keep it up Dragons. We are the friendliest korfball club in Didcot after all! Next Sunday Didcot 1 play Didcot 2 at St Gregs at 7.15pm. This could be an interesting rivalry!
The Dragons are always recruiting new players to join our friendly team but with the New Year brings a new opportunity and that is to come along to a special beginners taster session with us. You will be able to meet some members of our team, to be taught some of the basic skills of the game and to see if korfball is the sport for you.
The session will be held at Didcot Girls School, Manor Crescent, Didcot, OX11 7AJ on Tuesday 31st January from 8-10pm. We look forward to meeting lots of new faces then!
The first match of the new year saw Didcot Dragons 2 take on Oxford City 3 at St Gregory the Great Catholic School, Oxford on Sunday 8th January 2017. We were quite clearly ahead of Oxford throughout the match until the very end which took a turn towards a 10-10 draw. Luckily we pulled it around to our favour when Becky Lewis scored the winning goal. Well done Becky and well done Dragons 2 for a another fantastic win! The final score resulted in 11-10 to our team.
Next week Didcot Dragons 2 will be playing against Isis 3 at 6pm.
This Sunday Didcot Dragons 1 took on Oxford City 4 resulting in a 10-7 win to the Dragons. Fantastic goals were scored by a variety of our players and a fast and furious match was played by both teams. Well done!
Didcot Dragons 2 then played Oxford City 3 which ended in a 7-5 victory to Oxford. Both teams put up a good fight and the game was a close one.
There’s training as usual on Tuesday to push ourselves that little bit further. Watch out Oxford….we’re back next week! This time Oxford City 3 will be facing our first team and D2 will battle it out against Isis 2. Good luck everyone.

This weekend Didcot Dragons 2 played in a match at St Gregs against Oxford Isis 3. The game ended with 18 goals to the Dragons and 8 goals to Isis. An enjoyable game was had by all and goals were scored by many different members of our team. Great teamwork!! We would also like to say thank you to all of our supporters who came along to cheer us on from the sidelines.
Next week D will be playing Oxford City 4 and D2 will be up against Oxford City 3.
