As we settle into 2018, D2 are currently sitting 4th in OKA Division 2 North, and D1 are 10th in OKA Division 1 (but have three games in hand).

We are planning summer training (although it feels nothing like summer outside yet!) and our tournament, so watch this space for announcements about both of these things in the coming weeks.

As always, anyone is welcome to come along to training and to watch games – normally played Sunday afternoons at St Gregory the Great school in Oxford.

D1 vs D2

This evening Didcot Dragons 1 played Didcot Dragons 2 in a head-to-head battle of fiery wills by fellow teammates.  Despite the initial 5-1 lead by D2, the final result saw a resounding win on the part of D1 at 17 goals to 5.  Top goal scorers for D1 were Kate Holburn, Matt Gordon and Andy Cornish and in D2 Alex Lea scored the most goals and was also voted MVP.

Well done to everyone who played today.  It’s never easy playing competitively against your own teammates after all!

Next Sunday D1 will be playing Abingdon 3 at 3.30pm.

Also please do not forget that this Tuesday 31st January the Didcot Dragons will be holding a very special beginners sessions for new players to the sport of korfball and anyone who wishes to give it a go!  Didcot Girls School Sports Hall, 8-10pm.  We look forward to seeing you there.

Sunday 22nd January 2017

This Sunday Didcot Dragons 1 played Isis 2 at St Gregory the Great Catholic School resulting in a 10-7 win to the Dragons. The top goal scorers were Tris Kendell (3) and Chloe Watts (2) and a big well done goes out to all team members who worked together to score the well deserved win for our club.  Go Dragons!

In the second match of the day Didcot Dragons 2 played Bucks Royals.  The final score was a 19-9 win to Bucks who played a very good game.  While the Dragons may not have won this time round, they exhibited a huge amount of skill and great teamwork on court and a tremendous sense of achievement resounded amongst all despite the outcome.  The top goal scorer of the match was Ian Lewis who scored three goals and Tris Kendell acted as sub.

Keep it up Dragons.  We are the friendliest korfball club in Didcot after all!  Next Sunday Didcot 1 play Didcot 2 at St Gregs at 7.15pm.  This could be an interesting rivalry!
